It served during the wars of the French Revolution, the Napoleonic wars and the Anglo-American war. On October 24, 1798, “Leopard” captured a French private ship “Apollo”, commanded by Captain La Vaillant. On August 22, 1800, “Leopard” captured “Clarissa”. In 1812, “Leopard” was deprived of its weapons and turned into a military transport. On June 28, 1814, going from the Great Britain to Quebec and carrying a contingent of 475 royal Scotsmen, the ship took the ground near the Coast of Anticosti Island in a thick fog and was destroyed.
